We are a family oriented, progressive campaigner unit that portrays the 34th Georgia Infantry Regiment, Company B, when we are Confederate, and the U.S. 6th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment, also Company B, when we are Federal. We take great pride in doing an accurate, authentic portrayal of both units at various periods in the American Civil War.
Our mission is two-fold. First, we strive to honor our ancestors, who fought for causes they believed in and for the states that called for their assistance. Many of our members have ancestors who served in the 34th Georgia, and most historical reenactors have familial ties to the Civil War in some way, including at least one ancestor they wish to honor by portraying the soldiers of the period. Second, we strive teach the public about the history of the period, what the private soldiers endured, and about the senseless horror that is war. It is important to each of us that the public understands what our ancestors fought for and what they gave up in defense of their ideals.
As Historical Reenactors, we eagerly portray soldiers from both sides of the conflict, because our goals are to pay homage to the brave men of that time and to educate the public, but not to choose sides or to belittle anyone's contribution or sacrifice for the causes they believed in.
